Mexican food and drink can be quite diverse depending on the time of year, the region and available produce. Here is a list of our favorite Mexican beverages- non-alcoholic and/or cocktails, warm and/or cold!

Mexican Inspired Cocktails and Mocktails
While many people think Mexican cocktails are limited to margaritas, there is so much more to the cocktail scene in Mexican cuisine. Here are a few of our favorites.
Mexican Paloma Celebration Cocktail
A light refreshing Mexican cocktail made with tequila or mezcal and fresh grapefruit juice.
This cocktail is super easy once you have the horchata base made. If you don’t want to make the base you can purchase dry powder packages of horchata mix in the grocery stores but they are pre-sweetened. The base is easy but you have to think ahead a day.
Mexican sangritas often accompany tequila or mezcal tastings (flights). They are traditionally tomato or orange based. Options for either one are in the recipe below.
Of course, margaritas are a classic addition to the cocktail section of any menu. Here is one spicy margarita that adds a twist to the classic margarita.
Spicy cranberry margarita
A homemade cranberry habanero drink syrup takes this bright red twist on the classic margarita to the next level. Merry Christmas (or happy Valentine's Day, or… whenever)!
Champurrado (Chocolate Atole): Healthy Mexican Hot Chocolate
A Mexican hot chocolate thickened with masa and sweetened with brown sugar and cinnamon. Also known as a chocolate atole, it is a traditional drink for Mexican winter holidays.
This rich, spicy Winter drink will keep you warm and cozy during the chilly Fall or Winter months. There is a recipe for the DIY spice mix in the notes that is easy to customize.
