Golden Chai

Chai tea is a flavorful mixture of black teas and spices. It is inspired by tea making methods in India, where tea leaves and spices are simmered with whole milk. Technically this is Masala Chai, as “chai” is the word for “tea” in various Eurasian languages, and “masala chai” would mean a mixed-spice tea.

Ingredients: Black BOP teas, cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, pepper

Categories: , ,

2 oz package of Chai Tea BOP
2 oz package of Chai Tea BOP
Chai tea; cupped
Brewed cup of Chai Tea (without milk)

Add two teaspoons of chai per cup of water in a pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or longer. Strain, add hot milk and sweeten to taste.

For a quicker brewing you may also steep the same ratio of tea in hot water for 5+ minutes, strain, add milk and sweeten to taste.
