Pu-erh Tea

Pu-erh tea is made by parching and then fermenting the leaves of Camellia sinsensis, the same plant that is used for making green and black teas.

This is an aged tea mainly made in southwestern China and Taiwan. It contains many antioxidants, as well as caffeine, and it noted for improving mental alertness.

Pu-erh (aka puer) is also touted to help with weight loss, diabetes and heart health, although there is no solid scientific evidence to support these benefits.

Pu-erh tea has an earthy flavor that some people adore and some abhor. We have blended our puer with a bit of organic chile pepper to add a background of spice to the earthy quality.
